bit of an early entry, but i needed to get something done because July's not been a good month for my creative spirit. i haven't really touched any of my writing projects for weeks, i haven't been drawing very often, and i've been spending much of the past few days pacing around my house like a caged animal. i have been very fixated on a ghost and his roommate and Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to be a Magical Girl though, so there's a bright spot at least. those projects make me smile.
i also got The Craft of Research book a couple weeks ago. of course, my focus has been absolutely shot for those couple of weeks so i haven't been able to get through too much of it, but so far it's looking like a very informative read. it'd be good to have a day where i shake the bugs out of my brain and just read the books i've been meaning to read, maybe disconnect from the internet for a while. it'd be good for me, i bet.
whenever i come out of a dark spot like this, i always catch an urge to do something creative, and this time i decided to direct that urge towards this site. i keep saying i want to work on it more, and the current design is feeling a bit stale, so i reckon it's time for yet another site refresh! my favorite. i even drew up a little diagram to keep track of my plans this time.

it's a bit all over the place at the minute, but it'll be ironed out.
also, the other week, i was feeling bored and wanted to make something, so i wrote a little poem! emphasis on little, it's something like eight short lines long. it's about the noisy bugs i hear on summer evenings, and i'd go grab the notebook i wrote it in to take a picture or transcribe it here, but Q-Tip is sitting in my lap and i'd feel rude moving her, so you can have a picture of her instead. you can also see a dust bunny the size of texas under my desk in this picture. i need to sweep the floor here soon.
