mid-march musings (march 18, 2025)

i don't have many smart, thoughtful things to say today. i've just been struck by the desire to do html stuff again. proper html stuff, not just blog posts and front page doodles and such. that stuff is alright, but i haven't made a new page in a while. a lot of the pages i had early on in my time on Neocities were put away during some redesign or other a while ago, and they've just been kind of gathering digital dust in the corner for a while. i can't help but feel like the site feels less featureful than it used to be.

i'm not lacking in ideas, but i think therein lies the usual problem i run into: i do too much plotting and not enough doing. i'll just think and think until the project gets too big and intimidating for me to tackle. there's about half a dozen pages for this site that have never seen the light of day because i felt like they weren't ready. some of these pages i'm afraid to update because they've been the same for so long.

i think the answer is to get a little less fancy with it. if the home page looks super nice, i won't feel good about putting up new pages until they look just as good, and right now that's just getting in my way. if i simplify the CSS some, that might be good.

this isn't the monthly post where i talk about what i've been up to, this is just an extra because i wanted to organize my thoughts before getting to work.
