what do people put in about pages? idk i'll figure it out

It might be a lil bit challenging to write a page all about myself as someone who really values online anonymity, but we shall give it a try.

So, broad sweeps. I am Chavez, the webmaster. I've had a number of online aliases in the past, but Chavez is the one I've chosen to actually stick with. It's special to me, because it's a family nickname (which makes Chavela my nicholasname. #mypun).

I'm an amateur artist and writer, and an aspiring guitar player, animator, and competent adult. I also like doing this HTML stuff quite a lot, which is what got me to make this site back in December of 2023. Development has been slow since I graduated high school, but I still have high hopes for this thing.

I can also share some information about my little sona here.

I first designed this sona back in December of 2023 specifically for this website. Back then, I wanted to go for a sort of asymmetrical and wacky ringleader/TV host sort of vibe, half-inspired by Lesley from the DHMIS TV series. Nowadays I just draw the character in sweaters and hoodies, because that's what I wear most of the time.

The special thing about this design is that it's the most human-adjacent sona I've ever had. All my sonas from before were largely shaped by the games I was into and my inability to draw humans, so it was a long line of Pokemon and animatronics and other critters until I decided I wanted to try something new. It's still fairly abstract from a normal human, but that's intentional and strategic. It's rooted in what I actually look like so that I don't feel too detached from it, with interesting stuff added on because it's my sona and I can give it a tail to wag if I want to.
